About this project
Ecoflix backed filmmaker Marshall Corwin to tell Billy's story: a wild-born elephant held at Los Angeles Zoo for decades, and the long public campaign to win him a place at a genuine sanctuary. In May 2025 the zoo moved Billy and fellow elephant Tina to Tulsa Zoo, another zoo rather than a sanctuary, so the fight for his retirement continues. It is exactly the kind of storytelling that turns viewers into advocates.
