Rescuing horses and animals from cruelty and giving them refuge, healing and protection.
About Wild For Life Foundation
Wild For Life Foundation is a volunteer-run charity in the United States that rescues, rehabilitates and rehomes abused, neglected and slaughter-bound horses and burros.
Every year across America, wild and domestic equines are rounded up, abandoned or shipped towards slaughter. Many arrive frightened, injured or in poor health, with nowhere safe to go. Wild For Life Foundation exists to break that chain and give these animals the protection and care they deserve.
Founded in 2008 and run entirely by volunteers, the foundation responds to equines in crisis and takes them in regardless of breed, age or background. It operates as a no-kill organisation, turning to euthanasia only where suffering cannot be treated. Rescued animals receive primary veterinary care, a safe place to recover and the time they need to heal.
Its work spans emergency rescue and recovery, sanctuary for horses and burros, rehabilitation and gentle retraining, and careful placement into permanent homes. Through dedicated efforts such as its Navajo horse rescue mission and its work to prevent equine slaughter, the foundation also raises public awareness of the threats these animals face.
This matters because each rescued horse is a life pulled back from the edge. By keeping funding unrestricted, the foundation can direct help where the need is greatest, responding quickly when animals are in danger. Support sustains the food, medical care, sanctuary and second chances that allow rescued equines to live free from fear.
