About Neptune's Pirates
Neptune's Pirates is the campaigning identity of the Captain Paul Watson Foundation UK, a marine conservation charity defending ocean wildlife through direct action.
The oceans and the animals within them are under sustained assault, from the illegal killing of marine wildlife to the destruction of habitats, ghost fishing gear and pollution. Around the UK coastline and far beyond, whales, dolphins, seals and other species pay the price, and too often it happens unwatched.
The Captain Paul Watson Foundation UK, operating as Neptune's Pirates, is a registered charity that meets these threats head on through direct action, paired with education and public awareness. Its approach is to intervene where wildlife is being harmed and to refuse to let abuses go unchallenged, monitoring the vessels and practices behind the killing.
Its campaigns confront some of the most urgent issues at sea, including the slaughter of pilot whales and dolphins in the Faroe Islands, fin whaling in Icelandic waters, threats to seals and salmon, and the marine debris and ghost gear that trap and kill ocean life. The Neptune's Pirates identity also serves as a youth and engagement arm, bringing supporters and younger audiences into the cause.
This matters because the ocean cannot defend itself, and inaction lets the harm continue. Support enables the foundation to keep watch, to intervene and to build the movement of people willing to stand up for marine life.
